Securing lead to a pattern is easy when a bead anchors one end, but it's slightly more challenging when centering on hook shank. Sometimes I simply apply a thin layer of superglue to the shank and wrap the lead over it, but most often I'll create bookends with my thread. 1. Start with a 4/6 wraps in front of the lead. 2. Reach the thread all the way to the back of the lead and take an additional 4/6 wraps. Now the lead won't shift to either end. 3. Finally, I take turns through the lead wraps. This ensures it won't go anywhere! |
